We don't want you to think we're the fanciest riding stables in eastern Ontario. That certainly is not the case. But our riders tell us we're one of the friendliest, homiest, most welcoming stables they've visited.
Part of being who we are is being affordable. Not everybody who loves horses as much as we do is rich. I'm not and maybe you're not. So here are our rates.

TRAIL RIDING

From Another Time offers trail riding throughout the year and you don't need to be experienced. Our safe, reliable horses are here to give you an enjoyable ride along a country road, through woodlands and fields. For children under ten, we recommend a gentle pony ride near our barn.
During July and August, trail rides go out a 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Call ahead and we'll have the right horse ready for you when you arrive.
From Another Time is closed on Mondays, but if this is your only day available for riding, call and we'll fit you in if we can.
Your trail ride will give you an hour in the saddle. If you're new to riding, don't worry: I'll give you practice in the riding ring and the instruction you'll need to control your horse, stop, start and steer. By the time we set out on the trail, you'll feel comfortable on your mount.
Our ride will consist of walking and jogging. Of course cantering on trail rides is possible for experienced riders and arrangements can be made ahead of time.
Before we set out, you'll sign an insurance waiver and parents sign for riders under eighteen.

LESSONS

You're thinking about riding and you're thinking about starting with lessons. You know there's something more to it than simply jumping on a horse and riding off. You've seen the Olympics, you know it's a skill. You're so right.
I'm not qualified to get you to the Olympics but I will teach you the same fundamentals of riding that Eric Lamaze is using when he's riding Hickstead. At From Another Time, you're going to learn safety, good horsemanship and the skills to make you an independent rider.
Your first time out should be a one-and-a-half-hour introduction lesson. The first hour, you'll learn all sorts of neat stuff: leading, tying, grooming, saddling, bridling. Then you'll actually ride for about half an hour.
You may book lessons as your schedule permits, but after your first introduction lesson, you'll find several short lessons over a short period of time to be the most beneficial.
